February 19, 2018
The Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI) and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) are pleased to announce a joint project, funded by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research, to collect, analyze, and disseminate data on agricultural research in Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
ASTI Southeast Asia and the Pacific empowers partners in the region to collect time series data on the funding, human resource capacity, and outputs of agricultural research in countries in the region.
In addition, the project aims to build capacity at the country level for analysis, dissemination, and advocacy that informs and encourages effective and efficient agricultural research.
The project builds on ASTI’s work in Africa, Latin America, and Asia collecting and sharing quantitative information that is fundamental to understanding how agricultural science and technology contributes to agricultural growth, poverty reduction, and food security.
Participating countries include Cambodia, Fiji, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
